USA - Letter: Time to turn back dental 'bill of goods'
To the editor:
We were sold a bill of goods 50 odd years ago — namely the dangerous and faulty human experiment called community water fluoridation.
We were told it would reduce cavities by 65 percent, cut dental bills in half, and miraculously benefit poor children from needing to sit in a dentist’s chair. Most of us believed what we were told, becoming as myopic as the dentists trained to recognize only teeth, with little interest in any other body part or function.
Today, there’s no excuse for not understanding the ill effects of fluoride.
People who support fluoridation have no idea of the effects of this neurotoxin on our bodies, how it accumulates in the brain, connective tissue, arteries and bones. Dentists do not receive proper training in it. Dental schools don’t train them to understand the science that is so alarming.
My uncle, Dr. Phil Zanfagna, was in charge of a 1,000-bed military hospital during World War II. He worked with soldiers, scientists, and chemists – people who were producing the atomic bomb, which requires a lot of fluoride.
As an allergist, he developed patch testing, was president of the International Society of Allergists, and the International Association of Fluorine Chemists. He tested fluorine compounds for ten pharmaceutical companies.
He knew what was going on in the world of fluoride. As a specialist in fluorine chemistry, he recognized people coming into his office with symptoms of fluoride toxicity. He was understandably against the government’s implementation of community water fluoridation as it was rolled out nationwide.
My uncle co-wrote the expose “Fluoridation and Truth Decay” in 1974. This book describes back room deals between R. J. Reynolds and Alcoa Aluminum, working within the government to hide the deadly effects of smelting with fluoride throughout rural America. With community water fluoridation in place, they averted billions of dollars in settlements, and never again had to worry about disposing of this deadly toxin. Instead, they deviously spread it out throughout the entire population...............
