Canada - Fluoride Report Gives Calgary Water Pause

Decision On Amount Of Fluoride Added Needs To Be Discussed

Calgary- Many people have scoffed at the idea that Fluoride could be a health issue in the City of Calgary Water, as people have been used to having fluoride added to the water for the last 20 years, just as it is across much of the North American Continent.

But then Health Canada issued a report giving a cautionary word regarding the use of fluoride in drinking water.

The health experts that wrote the health Canada report are nearly unanimous in their agreement that the amount of fluoride that is being added to the drinking water in many city water supplies is too high.

Excessive Fluoride has been increasingly linked to health issues including lower IQ scores in children, hyper thyroidism in some situations, and contribution to certain other disease.

Because of this, Health Canada in their report to the city of Calgary has advised and recommended that the amount of fluoride in the City drinking water being added be lowered from 0.8 parts per million down to 0.7 parts per million.

Fluoride used in light moderation is known to help teeth, and has a host of positives, but the amount that it is effective at is being found to be less than traditionally has been used.
